And syrah - wow, who woulda thunk it. next time perhaps.

Peter (is this cookblog Peter?) Your point about wine and this kind of food not pairing terribly well - i basically agree. But i keep trying because i'm stubborn. I like certain wines with food like this, but that doesn't mean that the food and the wine bring out the best in each other. Sparkling cider and beer are probably better. And of course sake.Brooklynguyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16321573602782343974noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3799854524070158890.post-16347043510759660042010-01-06T18:55:51.841-05:002010-01-06T18:55:51.841-05:00Dish sounds great! And spicy foods in general (Cajun, mexican, Korean, etc.)I have had gewurtz and riesling and all the other 'go to's' and it feels a little forced to me. I always prefer sake or a snappy pilsner/lager.Peternoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3799854524070158890.post-80904558324474895362010-01-06T17:21:38.671-05:002010-01-06T17:21:38.671-05:00Any leftovers? I'm thinking some Crozes-Hermitage rouge would be pretty tasty with that....David McDuffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03274955351036700406noreply@blogger.com
